Abstract
Background: Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the skin and is characterized by intense pruritus and eczema. It requires systemic therapies and the use of novel treatments, such as Dupilumab and Janus kinase inhibitors. The approval of these drugs has revolutionized treatment during the last years.
Case report: We present a case of a patient with severe atopic dermatitis, refractory to immunosuppressive treatment and his evolution after starting treatment with monoclonal antibodies.
Conclusions: Monoclonal antibodies are advanced and novel therapies that have demonstrated efficacy in patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. In this article we present a case of a patient with switch of treatment, who had improvement in his evolution and quality of life, demonstrating an adequate response according to the dermatitis scoring index (SCORAD) after treatment with Abrocitinib.
